Featured this month\, our menu shares the spotlight with talented artists and poets from our community. We are hosting an artist reception here on Sunday\, July 12th at 3:00pm. \n  \nArtist:\nMaggie Davenport \n\n\nMaggie Davenport is an artist\, intuitive arts facilitator and creative coach who currently lives and works in Sarasota Florida. She graduated as an honors student from Ringling College of Art and Design in 1999\, receiving a BFA with an emphasis on painting. Her work as a facilitator and creative guide encourages play\, freedom of expression\, and exploring and getting comfortable with the process of creating before considering the finished product. She specializes in helping people to cultivate and use their creative intuition to get unstuck\, whether in their own creative process\, or within the creative process of living. Maggie works one-on-one with individuals\, and also facilitates groups and collaborative experiences. She prides herself on creating a welcoming\, supportive\, fun and expansive environment as she assists artists and non-artists alike.

We are hosting an artist reception here on Sunday\, June 14th at 3:00pm. \n  \nArtist: \nLisa Matway  \nLisa Matway is an abstract artist whose works explore the intersection of love\, resilience\, and the vital energy of life as it is shaped by Parkinson’s disease. \nThrough bright color palettes\, layered surfaces\, and expressive marks\, Lisa’s paintings reflect the ways movement\, emotion\, and inner strength may be challenged—while still honoring the beauty\, dignity\, and humanity that remain. \nLisa and her husband\, Jerry Overton\, founded the creative studio “modart4pd” (Matway Overton Design Art 4 Parkinson’s Disease)\, donating proceeds to Parkinson’s research and caregiving communities—one artwork at a time. \n  \nArtwork available for sale at www.modart4pd.com \nDonations for Parkinson’s support may be made to www.neurochallenge.org \n\n \nPoet:\nMonika Hetzler Bio \nMonika Hetzler is a Venice based poet and visual artist. Inspired and fueled by her love of storytelling and community building\, Monika creates collage filled zines and leads poetry and storytelling mics throughout the city. \n \nApril Bourne \nApril Bourne is a retired cybersecurity professional and lifelong poet who has been writing since the age of sixteen. Service runs deep in her family — she\, her husband\, and all three of her grown children have worn a military uniform\, with two of her children continuing to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves. When she’s not writing\, April can be found traveling\, cycling\, walking in nature\, or savoring time with family and friends.
